I have always said spring doesn’t really exist in South Africa and This week has definitely helped me back up that fact it has been stupidly hot here in the big smoke. The forecast for this weekend looks to continue that trend of bright and sunny. So what else to do but spend it outside soaking up some glorious South African Sun.

Friday 2 October

The first Friday night of the month is the new black, or so says the Backyard Pop-Up Bar. Hosted at one of our favourite micro-venues that is also the home of More than Food’s favourite Ice Cream event. The Back Yard Pop-up is the perfect way to kick off your balmy Friday evening after work.

The Backyard team is now also teaming up with Nevermore media who will be making sure we have a great lineup of live music at all their up and coming events -This Does however mean that a R20 entrance fee will now be charged at the door. Still a bargain by any standard though.

Sunday 4 October

This Sunday it is Vodacom in The City; although this year it is actually in the suburbs. You can call it the Joburg edition of Rocking The Daisies. Not to mention another local favourite: Albairre.

This year the Vodacom In the City line-up will feature international acts The Kooks, Milky Chance, and The Cat Empire.
