Season of Sauvignon Festival

season of sauvignon festival

While perhaps not as popular as the crowd-pleasing Chardonnay varietal, Sauvignon Blanc is still one of my absolute fav summer sippers. If you’d tend to agree, Durbanville Wine Valley’s Season of Sauvignon festival is bound to be right up your alley.

On Saturday and Sunday, 24th and 25th October 2015, 12 of Durbanville Wine Valley’s top wine farms will open their cellar doors to the public in celebration of one of the region’s very best varietals – Sauvignon Blanc of course!

Each wine farm will offer a unique experience including live music, a variety of tasty foods, fun activities for the kids, and tastings of their Sauvignon Blanc offerings.

Entrance to participating wine farms ranges from R30 to R100. Check out the festival programme to plan out an itinerary that best suits you. Don’t stress about catching the rugby either. Most wine farms will be hosting screenings on both Saturday and Sunday.

The most exciting aspect of this year’s event, is that festival visitors will be among the first to sample and purchase the Durbanville Twelve Sauvignon Blanc 2015, which comprises of grapes from all 12 participating wine farms.

Why not spend a day sniffing and sipping some of the very best Sauvignon Blanc in the country, whilst exploring the Durbanville winelands, a mere 15 minute drive from the city!
