Spain Is Now the World’s Most Popular Maker of Wine

Beating out France

Spain is now the world’s most popular winemaker, according to a new report.

The country accounted for 2.4 billion liters sold in 2015 versus 2 billion liters of French wine sold, according to theIndependent, citing the Spanish Wine Market Observatory.

Interestingly, despite selling more wine, Spain collected just 2.6 billion euros, or $2.8 billion, in comparison to 8 billion euros for France, or $8.7 billion, according to the publication.
