Spent lunchtime on the Partyberg yesterday with Juan Louw (below) who has made a kickass Bukettraube from 2013 Lemoenfontein grapes in an oxidative style. The name? Juan Jaune, obviously, a humble attempt at the Vin Jaune style from the Jura region of France. It will be available from the Pendock Wine Gallery @ Taj as soon as Luan Nel finishes the label. Juan, Luan, Jaune.

For food pairing, we went over the bult to the Joubertskloof for some artisanal cheeses. R45 for half a kilo. Half-price heaven.
