New species of ancient human named after wine made by Alain Moueix and Graham Knox

The news that a team of tiny Wits spelunkers has found a new species of human in the Rising Star Cave 50Km from Johannesburg ricocheted like a bullet around the fossil world. The new creature is described as  “slender, small-brained” and “long-legged”, “pinheaded” and “gangly”. “The males stood about five feet tall, with females a little shorter.”

The new species has been named Homo naledi. Naledi was a range of wines made by St. Emilion superstar Alain Moueix two decades ago with diminutive Aussie winemaker Graham Knox. It is now part of the Savanna portfolio.
