2018 Wine Harvest Report: Bordeaux Breathes A Sigh Of Relief

Bordeaux winemakers hoping for a big harvest in 2018, after France’s cataclysmic frosts of 2017, were disappointed. Heavy rains early in the season led to mildew, while hail in some areas also thinned the crop. But while the growing season was challenging, ideal weather late in the season ripened the crop well. Quantity may be low, but vintners have high hopes for quality.
