NASHVILLE, Tenn. –A 23-year-old woman has been charged DUI and open container violation after crashing into a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper’s cruiser. Lt. Travis Plotzer says Maria Carapia of Nashville was also charged with possession of schedule 4 and 2 substances. According to preliminary information, Sgt. Turocy, was performing a stationary observation on the side of Briley Parkway in his marked patrol car when he was struck by a 2011 BMW driven by Carapia.
