Two Historic Hotels Fuel Renewed Passion For Vibrant Miami Beach

Miami Beach, a place known for its high energy and sometimes noisy crowds, has always appealed to me, which may be surprising given my somewhat timid tendencies. But I don’t go there for the booming nightlife, star-studded parties or to run circles around the hunky body builders at Muscle Beach (although, come to think of it, that might not be such a bad idea). I go for the picturesque beaches, the flourishing art scene, the Art Deco architecture, the unbeatable people-watching, the creative energy and the abundance of good restaurants and fabulous hotels. On my most recent getaway there, I discovered two new fabulous hotels ? although neither The Palms Hotel & Spa nor its sister property, Circa 39, are actually new ? both have been around since 1939.
