A photo of a woman elegantly sipping what appears to be a glass of gin while wearing sunglasses on the Tube has gone viral, but sparked a warning from TfL bosses today.

The passenger was hailed as “classy” and a “hero” on Twitter after Mark Locke posted a picture of her sipping the cocktail on his Twitter account.

The woman was spotted travelling on the Northern line when she decided to pour herself a glass of what appeared to be pink gin from a can from M&S.

Mr Locke, from Scotland, took the snap and shared it in a post on Twitter, writing: “To the lady drinking a pink gin and tonic *from a glass* on the Northern line, I salute you. Classy.”
