Long Table Beef Strips with the Dombeya Samara 2006

The Food and Wine pairing of the Week: The Long Table Marinated Beef Strips and the Dombeya Samara 2006.

It has been a while since I had a dish so simple and so good.
The beef strips are marinated in Chef Corli’s secret combination of herbs, spices and garlic, served with sour cream and potato rounds.

Paired with the Dombeya Samara 2006, a Bordeaux Blend consisting of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 7% Malbec. Oaked for 12 months in a combination of new and 2nd fill French oak, this wine is rich with dark berry flavours and spice. The wine has a full, smooth finish that lingers on the palate that went well with the creamy and savoury meat flavours of the beef strips.

The dish is excellent for those crave a light meaty lunch and pairs excellently with the Dombeya Samara 2006
