ANZ boss splashes $10 million on winery

ANZ boss Mike Smith, Australia’s highest-paid banking executive, has spent more than $10 million to buy the historic Spray Farm winery and homestead on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula. Smith cashed in $17.3 million worth of ANZ shares to acquire the estate, with documents from the Victorian land titles office showing his wife Maria Shireen Smith has lodged a caveat over the property.
