Ramaphosa Expected To Extend Current Lockdown Restrictions And Alcohol Sales Ban

The current lockdown restrictions in South Africa are expected to continue for another month, according to News24. President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to announce the extension of current Covid-19 restrictions, following a series of meetings and consolations with relevant structures.

Last week, SAB filed a court application against SA government to challenge the alcohol ban’s constitutionality. Despite this, there will be a continuation of the restrictions on the sale of alcohol beyond 15 January.

The President is expected to address the nation on Monday night but this has not been confirmed by his office.
