Season of Sauvignon at Durbanville Hills

The start of summer calls for sun hats, sandals and Sauvignon blanc! All these will be in evidence at Durbanville Hills Wines where you will be able to celebrate all things Sauvignon with a lazy lunch and live music as part of this year’s Durbanville Wine Valley’s Season of Sauvignon.

The festival takes place on 6 and 7 October, offering fun-filled activities for the kids and a variety of foods creatively prepared by The Eatery – from oysters and sushi, to foot-long boerewors rolls, cheese boards, picnics and a candy station for those with a sweet tooth. Taste Durbanville Hills’ recently released Sauvignon blancs as well as those from other wineries in the Durbanville valley as you relax on the lawn in the shade of the olive trees. For those interested in attending a tutored tasting, the Cape Wine Academy will be hosting a variety of free classes throughout the weekend.

At the end of the festivities on the Saturday, Durbanville Hills will screen the rugby test between South Africa and New Zealand in the maturation cellar where you can enjoy wine directly from the barrel while watching the game that starts at 17:00.

And to ensure visitors arrive home safely, Scooter Angels will be at the cellar to escort those home who wish to make use of their services.

Date: 6 and 7 October

Time: Saturday, 10:00 – 18:00 (the maturation cellar will be open for the rugby from 17:00 – 20:00)
