Smokie is in love with South Africa’s red wine

The big boys from the British pop group Smokie is coming to town and will be touring South Africa from 2 to 10 April as part of their Take A Minute World Tour. Apart from being super excited to wow the crowds once again with some classics like “Living next door to Alice”, they are also ready to party up a storm with a few glasses of  South Africa’s best reds.

In a recent interview, lead singer Mike Craft said that there is a smoothness and flavour to SA red wines that you don’t get anywhere else in the world. He also went on say that after they fell in love with the country’s wine, they  insist that only South African wines are served during their worldwide tours.

Bass Guitarist Terry Uttley said that he loves red wine and always like to sample local wines. With their last tour to SA in 2008, they were introduced to the best red wines in the country and just love it.

The bands drummer Steve Pinnell stated that SA red wines can compete with any wines in the world. He also mentioned that the rich full flavoured wines can give the best Spanish Riojas a run for their money!

Pass Smokie a bottle and some glasses  and say CHEERS to that!
