A wine from the Swartland region in South Africa made the list of wines served at the Queen’s recent Jubilee. The Wolf & Woman Grenache Rosé 2020 is made by female winemaker Jolandie Fouche, who describes herself as “part woman, part wolf”. Inspired by Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Fouche released her first vintage in 2018.

Wolf & Woman Grenache Rosé 2020 is made from grapes yielded by a single bush-vine vineyard, which grows in the Paardeberg region in granitic soils.

Melon in colour, with aromas of cherry, pomegranate and watermelon, ending in a long dry finish. You can get a bottle from Wine Concepts for around R140.
