Test your taste, and fly to the World Wine Tasting Championship

The only wine tasting competition opened to all wine lovers will be taking place in Cape Town on the 2nd of August 2014.

After a successful 2013 inaugural event and first ever selection of Team South Africa, we are now calling all wine lovers to test their abilities for The South African Wine Tasting Championships 2014. Finally wine lovers are the center of a wine event.

The South African Wine Tasting Championships 2014 is a public event, open to amateurs who are encouraged to compete alongside the professionals. In the spirit of ongoing education, and in an attempt to encourage new converts into the closed circle that is the wine world, the SAWTC 2014 will allow all wine lovers to put their talents to the test.

3 Steps to become a Champion:

1 – Taste 50 wines from a selection presented by some of the best South African wineries.

2 – Enter the blind Tasting Arena and recognize 10 wines served blind from the selection you have just tasted

3 – Secure one of the highest scores and become “Team South Africa” flying to the World Championship held at

Champagne Bollinger in France on the 18th of October 2014. This wine challenge is open to all over 18, and the Top 50 Tasters will be receiving an award.

The SAWTC 2014 aims at two goals:

– Recognise and Award the Top 50 Wine tasters in South Africa

– Select Team South Africa going to the World Blind Tasting Challenge in France

Who will make South Africa’s TOP 50 WINE TASTERS? And who will fly to Champagne Bollinger?

Whoever feels ready to face the challenge, whether a wine lover or wine maker, sommelier or amateur, or just willing to evaluate your palate, diarise the 2ndst of August 2014 and join the best wine tasters of the country.

We are delighted to team with WINE.CO.ZA as the 2014 SAWTC Media Partner
