The Angostura Rock Shandy Wins For PR Excellence

On Friday, 15 May the 2020 PRISM Award winners were announced with Paddington Station PR and the Angostura Rock Shandy campaign scooping an award in the Food & Beverage category for exceptional content, delivery and communications.

The annual PRISM Awards is the most prestigious in South Africa for the communications and PR industry, and to receive this accolade is a badge of excellence and recognition for both brand and agency. In terms of the comprehensive judging criteria, a panel of noteworthy specialists and media practitioners judge entries based on problem-solving, research, planning, execution and the evaluation and impact of the campaign.

Vanessa Nel, Marketing Manager for Angostura aromatic bitters, says, “Our first and foremost intention was to drive brand awareness and promote this signature South African serve to consumers through multiple communication channels, harnessing bar opinion leaders to deliver the message. We did this by including six of South Africa’s top bars in a campaign and further supporting them through the prizes.”

As one of the longest standing global brands, Angostura is a leader in supporting the bar industry, particularly in local markets; constantly fostering new talent through education, opportunities, support and initiatives.
