The Tasting Room A Favourite At Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards

The annual Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards took place on 16 November and was regarded by those who attended as an unforgettably glamorous evening. 800 invited guests were served a meal fit for royalty and Charcuterie Guru Neil Jewell of Bread & Wine, who had also made it on to the Top 20 list, was tasked with serving the starter of a delicious and beautifully presented charcuterie platter.

After dinner it was time for the announcement of the Top 10 that sent Twitter into an absolute frenzy as each winner was announced. Franschhoek’s Margot Janse, Executive Chef for The Tasting Room at Le Quartier Français clinched the third spot on what has become SA’s most coveted culinary awards. The Tasting Room was also awarded the Grolsch Service Excellence Award. Margot has featured on the Top 10 list several times in the past, reaffirming Franschhoek’s position as SA’s leading culinary destination.
