The Twelve Apostles Hotel introduces new Craft Beer and Craft Cider tasting

Honing in on the growing allure of craft beer (*), The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa has introduced a brand-new craft beer and craft cider tasting that may be booked for private groups of between two

and 20 guests, either in The Leopard Bar (for up to 10 people), or the Conservatory (for 11-20 guests), at a cost of R175 per person, including canapés. The private craft beer and craft cider tasting can be booked up to 24 hours in advance, depending on availability, any time between 10:00 and midnight.

Hosted by Head Sommelier Gregory Mutambe or his colleague Richard Gosa, guests will be able to taste five different craft beers and craft ciders, together with a selection of perfectly matched canapés prepared by Executive Chef Christo Pretorius. These include Chicken Liver Granola, paired with Boston – Van Hunks Pumpkin Ale; followed by Springbok Loin with cashew cream, braised fig and wild rice puffs, accompanied by CBC – Amber Weiss; then Yellowfin Tuna – ceviche, miso dressing, baked avocado and curried paw paw, served with CBC – Krystal Weiss; and Oxtail Croquettes, to be enjoyed with Brewers & Union – Unfiltered Dark lager. As a sweet finish, Orpens Apple Cider will enhance the flavours of Chef Christo’s delicious Granny Smith Apple dessert – cinnamon and caramel terrine, caramel sauce and apple gel.

Hotel residents and diners at The Twelve Apostles’ Azure Restaurant may also join the Sommelier for a complimentary craft beer tasting every Thursday before dinner, from 17:30 to 18:15. Guests will be introduced to a selection of three, mostly locally produced brews, with an explanation of the different styles and brewing methods, and food pairing suggestions.
