This Bar Serves ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ Inspired Drinks

Beverly Hills meets Chicago with the opening of a bar where customers can order drinks named after the characters of 90’s cult show “Beverly Hills 90210”.

Jon Mossberger, owner of Ironside Bar & Galley, is decking out the lower level of the River North restaurant into Peach Pit After Dark, a homage to the legendary hang from the hit TV show. While not an exact replica, Ironside’s Peach Pit features photos of the cast of the original show — Brenda, Dylan, Donna, et al., the gang’s all here — plus peach logos and life-size cutouts. The bar will channel the later years of the Peach Pit, which started as a diner before opening up a club and bar next door.

Show-inspired drinks include the Brandon Walsh, a cherry-chocolate Manhattan made with bourbon, cherry liqueur, sweet vermouth and chocolate bitters, or the Valerie Malone, a strawberry mojito. Other options include a “Kelly Taylor ‘Choose Me’ Moscow Mule” or the “Dylan McKay ‘I’m Brooding’ Starter Kit’ shot combo.

Life-size cutouts of Brandon Walsh and Kelly Taylor will be stationed in the bar for fans to snap pictures with, along with a chalkboard for writing zip codes and Instagram-worthy “90210”-isms.

The bar’s TV screens will air episodes of the show and feature a soundtrack of artists who were on the show, like Christina Aguilera.

The bar is planned to remain open for several months. It will not take reservations.
