This is the world`s most expensive caviar

The most expensive of all caviar, and indeed the world’s most expensive food is ‘Almas’.

This caviar is white and it comes from the Iranian Beluga fish. Beluga sturgeon, the largest fish and only predator in the sturgeon family, can take up to 20 years to reach maturity. It is believed, that the whiter the caviar the older the fish and the more exquisite the flavour.

Almas Iranian caviar is extremely expensive. It is sold only inĀ 24K gold tin for $2500 per 100 gram.

Caviar is traditionally eaten directly from the skin between the index finger and the thumb. The eggs are rolled slowly around the mouth and pop to release the flavour.
