To A Brave New Future For The Pebbles Educational Project

Against the background of South Africa’s Covid-19 Lockdown and the resultant ban on the retail, on-consumption as well as online sale of wine, the ban on wine exports and the closing of restaurants such as the Creation Tasting Room, it is not always easy to remain positive. Bearing this in mind, co-owner Carolyn Martin has expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Creation team for their patience. “We would like to assure you that we’re doing our utmost to safeguard the wellbeing of every member of our beloved #Creationnation.”

She furthermore conveyed her appreciation to the extended Creation community – including neighbours, farmers in the Overstrand and Overberg regions, clients and last but not least, the Pebbles Hemel-en-Aarde Educational Project. “By standing together we can rise to the challenge of not only overcoming present obstacles but also creating new opportunities for our team and the community around us.

“Collaboration means we can solve issues that might seem impossible to do on one’s own.  We do so every day with creative and strategic brainstorming on Zoom and are astounded at the amount of patience, trust, love and gratitude emanating from the process.  How do we communicate better as a team? How do we use technology optimally and what are the challenges? We are learning a great deal more about each other. There is more empathy than ever before for circumstances which one might have taken for granted until Covid-19 happened.”

Referring to the Pebbles project Carolyn explained that members of the Creation team are involved in a food relief programme. “With the help of Salome and her husband, Philip we are all going to develop green fingers working in the Pebbles garden!  The aim is to create a steady supply of veggies not only for the Pebbles children and their families but also for others in the Hemel-en-Aarde. Yes, we are reaching for the stars, but we keep our feet firmly on the ground. Members of our team have told us they are bored and would like to get back to work to do something meaningful. Our hope is that you, the team, will all come to help us with this project until our Tasting Room re-opens and our visitors start to return.”

Our clients have always inspired us; some of our best innovations come from their valued input. Thank you for your incredible support, caring, thoughtfulness and messages of goodwill. We look forward to seeing you again soon.”
