Tuning the Vine returns for another urban wine adventure

The magic of the Mother City’s #InnerCityWineRoute will be ignited when Tuning the Vine returns for another urban wine adventure on Wednesday, 11 November from 5.30pm to 9.30pm; following the successful launch in October which drew 850 on-foot wine tuners.

From vibey Bree Street to the bottom of sassy Wale Street; ready your taste buds and prepare to fine tune your wine senses as you plan your visit to 14 of Cape Town’s hottest venues giving you access to over 200 different wines for tasting from over 40 of the Western Cape’s best producers.

This curated mid-week wine adventure offers unique wine experiences at each stop. Producers include Thelema, Paul Cluver, Nativo, Glenelly, Raats, Oldenburg, Klein Constantia, Beau Constantia, Hartenberg, Rivendell, Babylonstoren, Genevieve, Dorrance, Signal Hill, Cape Point Vineyards, Creation, Beaumont, Newton Johnson, Waterkloof, Villiera, Rickety Bridge, Ormonde, Buitenverwachting, Filia, Graham Beck, Restless River, Cederberg, Kleinood Tamboerskloof, Opstal, Iona.

To experience intriguing inner city venues, head down to the Reserve’s underground Wine Vault, discover Neil Pendock’s Wine Gallery at the Taj and the Publik Wine Bar, or explore CBD-based wineries Dorrance Wine Cellar and Signal Hill Winery.

Tastings, tunings, tapas, music, wine crash courses and challenges, delicious food and wine fun doesn’t stop there; other venues include Charango Peruvian Grill & Bar, Youngblood Art and Culture Gallery, Weinhaus & Biergarten, House of Machines, Bocca, Tjing Tjing Torii and Rooftop Bar, The Gin Bar (behind Honest Chocolate), The ABC Bar at The Reserve and the Twankey Bar.

Besides offering tastings many venues will sell wine by the glass and by the bottle. Venues will also be offering delicious quick and easy takeaway food options for wine tuners on the move.

TICKETING DETAILS

Early Bird tickets for November are sold out. For access to the #InnerCityWineRoute you can purchase a pre-sold ticket online for R150 via Quicket or collect a ticket at one of the ticketing stations at Youngblood (Bree Street) or Tjing Tjing (165 Longmarket Street). Additionally you can go to The ABC Bar (The Taj, St George’s Mall) ticketing station.

AWESOME EXTRAS

For an extra R50 join Neil Pendock’s RECM Best Value Tasting of over 30 wines. For an extra R100 a person experience a 45-minute Sommelier Taste Tour available for booking online or on the night (limited to groups of 10).

While at Tjing Tjing you can pair up to 5 dishes of your choice with select wines at a cost of R40 per dish – order on the night and as you fancy…

Wine glasses and wristbands for all ticket holders must be redeemed at one of the 3 ticketing stations on the day.
