The wine, which is not currently on the market, will be offered for tasting as part of a long list of activities uniWines Vineyards has prepared for the onslaught of visitors wishing to attend this springtime wine-lands festival.

“Our National Champion Ruby Cabernet is not bottled yet, but we will draw samples to offer wine-lovers the unique opportunity of tasting an award-winning young wine, something the public does not often have the chance to do,” says Pieter Cronje, marketing director for uniWines Vineyards.

For general consumption and enjoyment on the day, uniWines Vineyards’ popular ranges of Meander and Fairtrade-registered Palesa wines will be on sale. The Meander Moscato, the light, fruity wine with a tantalising sparkle which is creating a buzz in the local wine market, was launched during last year’s Breedekloof Outdoor and Wine Festival, and once again promises to be a highlight of this year’s event.

On the entertainment side, live music will be provided by the band FLASHBACK who will play popular hits from the 1980’s. A Teen Lounge will provide a chill area for teenagers, while the kids will have the run of their own play area.

To tap into today’s technology and the social media, a roving television crew will film random interviews with festivalgoers which will be broadcast live on a big screen

Between the wine and entertainment, various fresh culinary delights will be for sale. Admission to the general show area, is R50 on Friday night and R60 on Saturday and includes a tasting glass and complimentary tastings (Saturday only). Proceeds from Friday night’s ticket sales will be donated to the Institute for the Blind in Worcester, which has benefited from the long-time support of uniWines Vineyards through the years.
