Use your ingenuity to spoil dad this Father’s Day with Nederburg’s new flagship Spanish-style blend

Trying to find the perfect gift for the man who taught you how to ride a bike is no easy task!

A one-of-a-kind Dad deserves a one-of-a-kind gift and there is no better contender than Nederburg’s newly released 2012 Ingenuity Spanish-style blend.

The latest addition to Nederburg’s flagship Ingenuity range, a blend of Spanish varietals Tempranillo and Graciano, once again showcases the winery’s originality. Big and bold, but at the same time fresh and lively, this racy red pairs perfectly with robustly-flavoured dishes prepared with a hint of spice such as paella or chorizo or Serrano ham and even moussaka.

While it is delicious to drink as is, the Ingenuity Spanish-style blend has a maturation potential of 10 to 15 years.

If your budget allows, you can also consider Nederburg’s Ingenuity Italian-style blend featuring Sangiovese, Barbera and Nebbiolo. Juicy, layered and smooth, it makes a great accompaniment to charcuterie and tomato-based dishes.

Perhaps Dad prefers white blends? Not a problem. The Ingenuity White, a Sauvignon blanc-dominated wine that includes another seven varieties, manages to be assured yet nuanced and very food-friendly, pairing well with seafoods and red and white meats.

Any one of these beautifully bottled wines should make Dad smile this Father’s Day. If you really want to spoil him, why not buy him all three? If you’re lucky, he’ll share!

The Ingenuity reds retail for around R280 a bottle and the white retails for around R195.

All three wines are available for purchase at the Nederburg tasting room or online on www.vinoteque.co.za.
