We Luv Wine Festival returns to Cape Gate in August

The second half of the year sees the return of the “We Luv Wine” Festival at the Cape Gate Shopping Centre in the northern suburbs of Cape Town on Friday, 22 August from 17h00-21h00 and Saturday, 23 August from 12h00-18h00.

Wine lovers can taste and buy more than 100 wines directly from the producers. A wide selection to suit every palate and wallet, ranging from Red, White, Dry and Sweet right through to Port, Bubbly and Pot-Stilled Brandy, is on offer.

“We wanted to offer visitors a wide range of wine and wine-related products and have therefore invited well-known brands as well as boutique and family-owned wineries from right across the country to exhibit during the festival,” says Cape Gate Marketing Manager Amanda McCarthy.

Hungry tummies are catered for with products like biltong, cheese, olives, olive oil and chocolates on offer and selected food exhibitors have been invited to provide eats for sale. Lounge seating areas for socialising will ensure a casual vibe and an enjoyable food & wine experience as visitors are welcome to buy something to eat and enjoy it with a glass of wine on site.

Participating wineries include: Ayama Wines, Beau Belle Wines, Blaauwklippen Vineyards, Du Toitskloof Cellar, Groenland, Mount Vernon, Koelenhof Wynkelder, L’Avenir Stellenbosch, Orange River Cellars, Perdeberg Wines, Ruitersvlei , Vergenoegd Wine Estate, Villiera Wines, Yonder Hill Wines and Zevenwacht.

The Pebbles Project, which looks after disadvantaged children, especially those impacted by alcohol, is the charity beneficiary of the festival and will be present to spread their message and raise funds and awareness.

Tickets: R50 pp (Includes tasting glass). From 1 August at the Information Desk in the Cape Gate Centre, on-line from www.plankton.mobi or from the door.
