Hartenberg has been around a long while. This property on the Northeastern slopes of the Bottelary Hills has had vineyards on it since the mid 1690’s.

 

Paging through this month’s GQ I saw that Christian Edes has written a little column thingy about pairing wine and music.

 

I recently started becoming rather tired of Facebook.

 

So yesterday I was a bit of a media freebee whore, taking in a whiskey tasting in the afternoon from Brandhouse, and then a dinner at Anatoli from Nederburg.

 

On Thursday I will be taking part in Spit or Swallow’s South African Box Wine Awards.

 

This was supposed to be finished last week. But planning trips to Europe, dealing with hungry tourists and catching up on the practical side of wine blogging (drinking) got in the way.

 

Nacht durst is a German phrase describing the insatiable thirst one wakes with after a long night out.

 

Last Saturday I took part in a bloggers tour of some farms that have entered into the Best of Wine Tourism Contest run by Great Wine Capitals (GWC) .

So, it is that time of year again when the CTICC hosts its biggest piss-up of the year. WineX. I was wondering if any of you are going?

 

Alas, the last few weeks have been too quiet on this blog. Quiet and eerie, @’s (the digital tumbleweed) have been blowing through the pages with not a new word in sight.
