What the stars will be drinking at the 2017 Oscars

Oscar-winning film-maker and vineyard owner, Francis Ford Coppola’s wines will be only brand served at the 2017 Oscars, taking place on 26 February in Hollywood.

The 14-time Oscar nominee and six-time winner has struck a deal to be the official wine sponsor to the Oscars. The Francis Ford Coppola Winery has signed an agreement to supply the Academy Awards for the next three years, as well as the 2017 Sundance film festival.

An extension of Coppola’s Director’s Cut collection, the two Cinema Premiere 89th Edition wines, a 2013 red blend and a 2015 Russian River Valley Chardonnay, will be poured at the Academy Awards and the Governors Ball post-show party.

In addition to this, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Merlot and Petite Sirah from the Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys – Coppola’s Director’s Cut Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and 2013 Archimedes will also be poured on the night.

The winery expects to serve more than 2,112 bottles of wine in total – or more than 9,500 glasses, according to a report in Decanter.
