AN artist turned a carpet into a portrait of Andy Murray – by staining it with commonly spilled items such as wine and coffee.

Ed Chapman, 42, from Manchester spent 300 hours on the painting using products including a jar of coffee, wine, nail varnish, lipstick, turmeric and three shovel fulls of soot.
