Wine Spectator reviews Haskell II 2009

America’s widest read wine publication, Wine Spectator, has added to the impressive list of accolades for the Haskell II 2009. The Shiraz and Cabernet blend from the Stellenbosch based winery was rated 91 points by Wine Spectator reviewer, James Molesworth, who praised its ‘blackberry coulis and boysenberry flavours’, whilst suggesting a drinking window stretching to 2018.

This follows on from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate awarding the wine 90 points, and with 93 points coming from leading Australian wine writer, Gary Walsh ( Winefront).

Made by Haskell Vineyards cellarmaster and Cape Winemakers Guild member, Rianie Strydom, the Haskell II 2009 was produced using the alternative approach of co-fermenting 50% of the Shiraz and Cabernet, with 8% of Mourvedre added at the final blending.
