Women’s Day Vineyard Walk Details

Celebrate Women’s Day at Benguela Cove with a 5km walk through picturesque vineyards – and enjoy four delightful wine tastings on route. Juices & entertainment available for kids.

Registration opens at 08:00 at the estate Tasting Room.

Walk starts at 09:00.

There will be a lucky draw at the end of the walk with great prizes to be won.

Stop 1: The first wine tasting stop is located at the crossing of our south facing vineyards and olive groves, on the shores of the Bot River lagoon which runs down to the cold Atlantic Ocean. This is where the Benguela Cove Lighthouse Collection Sauvignon Blanc grapes are grown – and so it’s the perfect location for your first tasting of the day; Benguela Cove Lighthouse Collection Sauvignon Blanc 2018. Here you may also sample handcrafted Benguela Cove Estate olive oil and fresh baked bread.

Stop 2: Continue through the olive groves, to the southernmost tip of the Benguela Cove Wine Estate – to the magnificent lookout point. Whilst enjoying the panoramic ocean views, guests can enjoy the second wine tasting of the day – Benguela Cove Lighthouse Collection Dry Rosé 2018. Includes a juice for the kids.

Stop 3: The third stop leads guests right between the vines and the sea, where guests get to experience the Benguela Cove Lighthouse Collection Syrah 2017. Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate boasts South Africa’s longest stretch of ocean facing vineyards – at the lowest altitude of only 3m above sea level. This results in our estate’s award-winning, unique cool climate wines.

Final stop: The Benguela CoveWomen’s Day Vineyard Walk concludes back at The Tasting Room, where guests can enjoy the final tasting of the day and toast Women’s Day with a little bubbly; Benguela Cove Cuvee 58 Method Cap Classique.
