Graham Beck weekend on board the Zambezi Queen

Join us for an exciting week end on board the Zambezi Queen – 20th December to 23rd December 2013, hosted by Pieter Ferreira, Cellar Master and better known as “Mr Bubbles” from Graham Beck Wine Estate in South Africa.

We celebrate the launch of the recently introduced direct flight on Airlink from Johannesburg to Kasane, Botswana – gateway to the Zambezi Queen languidly awaiting your arrival. A short transfer will take you to the edge of the great Chobe River Arrive on board the ZQ in time for a light lunch and a sail down the Chobe River, taking in the breathtaking beauty and excitement of a safari on a river.

At 18:00 our Captain Wayne Nel will introduce you to Mr Bubbles, other guests on board and complete formalities over an informal safety briefing after which Pieter will introduce you to the “Graham Beck Story” while sipping on Graham Beck Brut NV sparkling wine.

Dinner tonight is a formal black and white affair to enjoy a set menu consisting of a food and wine pairing:

Enjoy a night-cap or quality coffee before the generator goes off at 22:00 to ensure a quiet night filled with only African sounds ……

Saturday morning breakfast will commence at 07:30. Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast while watching herds of elephant congregate at the water’s edge.

Prior to lunch, Pieter will introduce you to Graham Beck’s – “The Game Reserve” range of wines with tastings of Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Pinotage.

By now you will be ready for lunch. Enjoy our buffet of fresh salads, fish terrine, and oven roasted pork fillet, freshly baked bread, a selection of South African cheese and our famous Lemon Meringue Pie.

Enjoy sun downers on a tender boat, getting you close up to the game on the banks of the Chobe National Park.

Return to the main vessel for an evening feast on land in our boma. Here our chefs will tantalize your taste buds with their special “African” offerings –

We will then move back on board the main vessel for a night-cap before the generator goes off at 22:00 Sunday morning breakfast will commence at 07:30. Add a splash of sparkling to the breakfast and then into a tasting of 6 MCC bubblies by Pieter. After all the sparkling wine you will have time to rest and relax before we commence lunch. Lunch will again be a buffet with freshly baked bread, selection of cheeses, fresh salads, grilled chicken and rare roast beef. Finish off with a decadent carrot cake.

Afternoon sundowner cruise or fishing is on offer or simply relax on the main vessel.

The final dinner will be on board the ZQ.

Tonight we will start off with a Creamy Broccoli Soup, followed by vegetable tempura with pomegranate chutney OR spinach and feta tartlets paired with The Game Reserve Sauvignon Blanc or The Game Reserve Pinotage.

Mains will be succulent slow roasted leg of lamb or grilled Bream paired with The Game Reserve Shiraz or The Game Reserve Chardonnay.

End the evening of with a Mocha Soufflé with orange and cardamom syrup or a cheese board with preserves paired with Bliss demi sec bubbly.

The last night of this food and wine feast on board the Zambezi Queen before everybody depart on Monday morning. A last bit of chatting about great wines and good food whilst we enjoy our last night cap together.

Monday morning breakfast at 07:30 before everybody starts disembarking for their forward travels.
