Mines & Wines & Reno

its all part of a new project Mines & Wines to convince non-renewable resource players of the terroir attractions of renewable resources. Just look at the SA wine brands with heavyweight mining connections:

Vergelegen owned by Anglo American with a CEO who last week paid R22K for a bottle of Windfall Kibali to settle a debt he lost to Mark Bristow CEO of Randgold Resources;
Jeremiah may have been a bullfrog but Graham Beck was a coal miner as was Gary Harlow who owns Wildekrans who make the best Pinotage in the Overberg;
Gerard Holding who makes the best rose in Franshhoek is a mining financier;
Gary Jordan was a geologist before he started making Jordan wines in the Stellenboschkloof;
and Christo Wiese was a diamond dog before he became a country gentleman on Lourensford.

So there’s a mining six pack for you right there. Now all I have to do is get WOSA and Nevada Casinos to buy into the concept.
