A well-endowed exhibition

The wine gallery concept came full circle this evening at the opening of Deborah Poynton’s exhibition Model for a World at the New Church Gallery in Tamboerskloof. Here is Deborah with curator Kirsty Cockerill and Christopher PeterĀ and two glasses of Riesling.

The circle was squared as I curated an exhibition of Rieslings made by Julien Schaal and Paul Cluver to accompany Deborah’s paintings. The well-endowed flavours in the glasses matched the subject material to a “T.”

Male and female. Alsace and Elgin. Autumnal abundance. Ying and Yang. Manichaean gymnastics on New Church Street and then off for peri-peri chicken livers and Game Reserve Chenin Blanc 2013 (R140) from Graham Beck at Beleza which is Portuguese for beautiful. Which is what the art, wine and experience was.
