Comfort Foods That Are Good For You

Comfort Food is usually associated with dishes that are loaded with carbs, saturated fat and a ton of calories. With just a few tweaks comfort food can still be your comfort with half the fat.

Here are a few of my favorite comfort foods with healthier substitutions without compromising flavor. All of them will still leave you with that “I’m so guilty comfort food” feeling even though your brain will know it’s healthy, your taste buds wont.


Definitely start with a lean ground beef or ground turkey. Season really well with meat spices, salt and fresh ground pepper. Burgers really aren’t unhealthy until you start drenching it in sauce so here’s a super light but zesty hamburger sauce.

1 avocado
½ c. ff sour cream
2 tlbs cilantro
2 teas. lime juice
1 garlic clove, minced.
