Mange Tout adds the fine to dining

Sophisticated and elegant. Mange Tout, situated at Mont Rochelle Hotel in Franschhoek, is a paradise for the refined palate.

Acclaimed for the originality and freshness of its cuisine, Mange Tout offers various dining options, each with a distinctive ambiance and enchanting views over the Franschhoek valley. It may be a fine-dining establishment but there is nothing stuffy about dinner here. The comfy seating and friendly, casual service encourage you to relax with some of the best local wines, while enjoy the company of your dinner companion as much as the food. It’s the perfect setting for a romantic date and the lovely fireplace makes the space extremely cozy during winter.

Executive Chef Maki Makhi blends spices and flavours to create a cuisine category bursting with uniqueness, while still paying homage to old classics. He’s delectable dishes combine the uniquely African with traditional European. Every bite hitting the spot!

Chef Makhi Maki sure knows how to please the palate!

Mange Tout offers a unique a la carte menu that includes such dishes as Beetroot with truffle, buffalo yoghurt and micro herbs, and a cannelloni dessert with passion fruit, basil and liquorice marshmallow. The menu is however an ever evolving work in progress and changes often, according to availability of local and seasonal produce.

On the evening of our visited we opted for the 5 course degustation menu which included 3 additional (and complimentary) Chef surprises, as well as some items from the à la carte menu.

Starter from the à la carte menu: Quail, chermoula (incredibly tasty Moroccan marinade), spring onion and capsicum (peppers)

Starter from the Degustation menu: Open mushroom lasagne with cheese fondue, Shimenji mushrooms and pine nuts.

Main from the à la carte menu: Pork, celery, apple and mustard. Lip smacking!

Main from the Degustation menu: Springbok, butternut, baby onions, zucchini.

The 5 course degustation menu is priced at R325 per person (excluding wines) or R435 per person (including wines) and offers exceptional value for money. The same can be said for the à la carte menu, priced at R190 per person for 3 courses and R150 per person for 2 courses.

If you are looking for a fine-dining experience that pleases the pocket and palate look no further than the fine cuisine of Executive Chef Maki Makhi. Mange Tout delivers an upscale and romantic dining experience that really adds the ”fine” to dining.
