Backsberg invites you to come relax and enjoy a delicious picnic while listening to Albert Frost live at Backsberg. Albert Frost, master guitarist and passionate muso will be performing at the popular live music concert series on 23 January 2011.

Albert Frost started playing the guitar in 1990, when he was only 13 and has since gone on to establish himself as a music industry veteran. In 1994 he started playing alongside his father, the legendary Frank D. Frost, in the acclaimed blues band, the Blues Broers. He performed with Valiant Swart from 1999 to 2003 and recorded Blou Kombuis with Koos Kombuis in 2000.

Frost released his first solo album, Catfish, in 2002 and with that created a new musical spectrum with a mixture of original songs and ‘Frost-versions’ of the classics from Jimi Hendrix, John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters to name a few. The album, recorded in front of a live audience, solidified Frost as South African music royalty. Now in 2010 Frost’s new album, Devils and Gods, continues to delight fans.

Set in the beautiful and scenic landscape of the Cape winelands the concert series, which runs from 28 November 2010 to 13 February 2011, brings a superb musical line-up of South Africa’s best-loved artists to Backsberg.

In addition to Albert Frost, audiences can anticipate sunset acoustic performances from the likes of Wrestlerish, Robin Auld, Schalk Joubert and many more. Check out the full lineup at www.backsberg.co.za/PicnicConcerts or follow the action on the facebook page www.facebook.com/BacksbergConcerts
