The mature vineyards used for The Pumphouse Shiraz show intense varietal character including black cherry, pepper and spice. Whilst full bodied, the fruit is ripe and sweet and the tannins are soft. A subtle mint and vanilla complexity is derived from a period of maturation in barrel and enhances a long finish. The palate has weight and depth due to layers of fruit tannins and sheer flavour intensity.
