The world’s most enduring film star reaches his landmark 50th birthday today but the man is not exactly clinking the champagne glasses in celebration, following his shocking split from Katie Holmes. 

One thing is for certain, he definitely changed the way we perceive cocktails! Ladies (and gentlemen) from all over the world fell in love with Tom Cruise when the movie Cocktail came out in 1988. Cocktail was a virtual fix for the legions of females around the globe who were panting for a doze of the Cruise charm.

Paired with Elisabeth Shue as his leading lady, Cruise stars as an ambitious business student moonlighting as a bartender, hence the amplification of bartending glamour and glitz since that time.  The soundtrack is truly enjoyable and the Beach Boys’ Kokomo lends the perfect air of Caribbean bliss.
