As we patiently wait for the return of Game of Thrones in (sigh) 2019, it has been announced that the much-anticipated final season will come with its very own Scotch whisky.

Johnnie Walker recently posted a 20-second video on social media, featuring dramatic GoT-esque music and the punchline, ‘Scotch is coming to the realm this Fall – White Walker by Johnnie Walker.’

After fans requested more details in the comments section, the brand simply replied with: ‘We’re excited to be partnering with HBO on White Walker by Johnnie Walker, which will launch this fall. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months!’

At the moment, there is very little information to build on. Whether the blend will be specially created for the final season, or whether it will be a unique bottling of existing liquid remains to be seen. All we know is that the bottle will be released in fall 2018, before the final season airs in spring 2019. On alcoholic beverages, a range of beers and wines have already been released in collaboration with the Game of Thrones brand, but this will be the first spirit, delivered through a collaboration between HBO and Diageo.
