Now in its fourth year, the Klink Awards recognises the very best in wine tourism innovation by inviting its harshest critics, the public, to vote for the winners of this year`s 17 categories.

Backsberg is pleased to announce that they’ve been nominated for the Tread Gently Award which recognises the Most Green Wine Farm.

Backsberg’s PET-bottled Tread Lightly wines were amongst the very first in South Africa to embody the principles of care and respect for the land and the people who work on it. Backsberg is now an accredited Zero Carbon Estate with sustainability as the underlying principle in our production. Our use of renewable energy cooling techniques reduces the energy demands of the estate. We go one step further – their lightweight bottles reduce the energy needs for transport too. We firmly believe the enjoyment of a great bottle of wine should never be at the cost of the environment.
