Jägermeister’s 2020 Meister Hunter Competition Goes Digital

Mast-Jaegermeister UK is rehauling its annual Meister Hunter competition this year, making it one of the first online cocktail competitions to hit the scene following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The competition, which is now live, has been developed in efforts to support bartenders who are currently out of work, offering them the opportunity to do what they do best and be rewarded with £5,000 in combined prize money.

Bartenders are being asked to show off their “at home cocktail style” in a video entry via their personal Instagram account.

The cocktail must have a minimum of 35ml of Jägermeister, Jägermeister Cold Brew Coffee or Manifest, and the judges will be looking for flair, creativity and fun.

The post needs to include a photo of the finished cocktail, its name and specs. Entries must tag and follow the Meister Hunter Instagram page @meisterhunter as well as Jägermeister UK @jagermeisteruk and use the hashtag #meisterhunter.

Entries for Meister Hunter 2020 will be accepted for the next 30 days, ending midnight Friday, 1 May. Ten finalists will be announced on the Meister Hunter Instagram page and the final will be held mid-May.

Competition finalists will be sent a locked mystery box of ingredients. One hour before the final is to begin, bartenders will each be sent a code to unlock the box and they can use any ingredients from the box to make their final Jägermeister cocktail.

The final is planned to be live-streamed on social media with first place taking home £3,000, second place £1,500 and third place £500.
