Wine Spectator Reviews Dombeya

by Johann Olivier

The world’s most read wine publication, Wine Spectator, has released its reviews of a selection of wines from the Dombeya range. The good news is that there is a little of the 2012 Chadonnay left. The bad news is that the 2009 Shiraz is sold out! Better late than never however, and we’re grateful to Wine Spectator for the kind words and for taking the time to review our wines in such a positive fashion. Reviews below,

Dombeya Boulder Road Shiraz 2009

Rock solid, with a core of dark plum, currant confiture and roasted fig notes forming the core, while ganache, smoldering charcoal and licorice root accents line the edges. Shows good grip through the finish, revealing an echo of dark fruit.

Dombeya Chardonnay 2012

Wel focused, with pear and yellow apple fruit, lined with brioche and verbena notes. The long detailed finish shows a good juicy edge.
