Simonsig grabs a fistful of 90+ ratings in Wine Advocate’s SA Wine Report

Simonsig has triumphed in the USA with no less than five wines scoring 90 points or more in Wine Advocate’s 2013 report on South African Wines by accomplished wine commentator, Neal Martin.

Published in the October issue of Wine Advocate and on eRobertParker.com, Martin’s 2013 South African Wine Report recommends Simonsig red wines in particular describing them as “consistent from start to finish” with good ageability.

Three top tier Simonsig reds, all from the 2010 vintage, broke through the 90 point barrier with the highest score of 91/100 awarded to the Simonsig Frans Malan Cape blend followed by 90 points for both the Tiara – Simonsig’s flagship Bordeaux-style blend – and the highly acclaimed Redhill Pinotage.

The generous 2012 vintage hailed for delivering intense, lively flavours, also brought Simonsig its share of rewards with a 91 point score from Martin for the Simonsig Chenin avec Chêne and 90 for the vibrant Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé.
