The Rietvallei Esteanna Red Blend has scored 90 points at the Cape Bordeaux Report 2019, presented by WineMag.co.za.

65 entries were received from 53 producers for this year’s competition and these were tasted blind (labels out of sight) by the three-person panel, scoring done according to the 100-point quality scale.

The Esteanna Red Blend 2016 is a superb wine that combines the star power of Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc and a small dash of Petit Verdot. A dark ruby red in colour, it wields a nose alive with cassis and cherry aromas, rounded out by subtle scents of violet. The cherry notes carry through to the palate where they are joined by touches of cedar and vanilla and uplifting acidity.
