The beans are freshly roasted and delivered to Backsberg every week, ensuring maximum freshness and flavour. A specially-selected blend was created for Backsberg consisting of 100% Arabica beans all the way from Ethiopia, Uganda and Tanzania.

The blend is roasted to a medium to full city roast, bringing about wonderfully intense, rich flavour profiles. Coffees made from this blend have been described as being full-bodied with a fruity aftertaste. African beans are generally grown in altitudes between 4000 to 6000 ft giving the beans a fruitier profile and a higher acidity.

Backsberg’s baristas are trained to make espresso-based coffees, such as cappuccinos, using freshly ground coffee and micro-foamed milk served at the optimum temperature.
