Cancellation Of La La Land Open Air Screening At Nederburg

The outdoor screening of the movie La La Land on Saturday, 4 April at Nederburg in Paarl, organised by the Galileo Open Air Cinema, has been cancelled as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and national disaster, as per the declaration by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday night (15 March). During his national address, he also confirmed a ban on gatherings of more than 100 people, until further notice.

The Galileo Open Air Cinema has therefore made the difficult decision to postpone all film screenings until October 2020, in a bid to help curb the spread of the virus and protect its internal and external stakeholders. New dates for movie screenings at various outdoor locations will be made public in due course.

Current Galileo Open Air Cinema ticketholders have the option of a refund or a gift voucher with no expiration date, that could be used at any time in future when screenings resume.

To process a refund, ticketholders must log-in to their Webtickets profile, click on “MY TICKETS”, click on “CHOOSE ACTION” and “REFUND TICKETS” next to their transaction. Those who paid via Pick n Pay or EFT, will be prompted to enter their banking details and receive a confirmation email. All refund requests must be submitted by Monday, 30 March 2020. Refunds will be processed and paid within 7 to 10 days. No refunds are offered on complimentary tickets.

Ticketholders are however encouraged to support the Galileo Open Air Cinema during this difficult time and opt for a gift voucher – to do so, no action needs to be taken. All remaining ticketholders who did not request a refund will receive their gift voucher by Friday, 10 April 2020.
