Neethlingshof estate outside Stellenbosch has launched its first wooded white wine, a blend of the six white cultivars that grow on the farm.

Two Neethlingshof wines have recently scaled new heights.

Following the success of last year’s “Pay It Forward” initiative at Neethlingshof on Heritage Day (also known as National Braai Day),

Neethlingshof has won two national awards in the 2012 Novare SA Terroir Wine Awards for the estate’s 2012 Gewürtztraminer and 2011 The Maria.

Since De Wet Viljoen joined the Neethlingshof winemaking team a decade ago, the man did not produce one single chenin blanc, until now.

It’s the first Chenin blanc he’s made in almost a decade since his arrival at Neethlingshof but he is not breaking new ground doing so for decades ago it was by far the dominant cultivar on the farm accounting for almost 70% of production.

The Neethingshof estate at the hub of the Stellenbosch Winelands offers visitors memorable sensory experiences at its wine tasting centre, to enjoy on the spot or to pocket for a treat at home.

When the mid-week calls for an evening treat, escape to the scenic Neethlingshof estate on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, and join the Lord Neethling restaurant for its winter Wednesday dinners.

An effective way to compare wines, are horizontal and vertical tastings. It’s easy judginbg wines side by side, but some different concepts have developed around the organization of those tastings.

The Lord Neethling restaurant, situated on the beautiful Neethlingshof estate outside Stellenbosch, has a fantastic winter special on offer.
