AVE THE DATE – 15 February 2014, for an unforgettable Winemaker’s Table dinner at Plaisir de Merle where the gardens, manicured lawns and rolling vista of vines invite you to breathe in the elegance of yesteryear while experiencing superior quality and service.

The 1st of December is a historic day for the farm Plaisir de Merle, set on the scenic Simonsberg Mountains between Paarl and Franschhoek.

The winner of the 2013 Inter Hotel Challenge for budding chefs from 10 top Cape Town hotels, was Gert Böcking of the Cape Grace at the V&A Waterfront, whose winning dishes were perfectly paired with Plaisir de Merle wines.

Lovers of good food and wine are invited to dine with Plaisir de Merle cellar master Niel Bester on Friday 4 October 2013.

Head out to Franschhoek this weekend Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July for the Bastille Day Festival 2013, to celebrate the valley’s centuries-old French Huguenot heritage. Indulge in a feast of food and wine and all the fun of this popular annual festival.

Bread and wine come together in harmony at the historic Plaisir de Merle wine farm in Simondium, situated between Paarl and Franschhoek, where the old water mill has been refurbished and is all set for action, adding a distinctive ambience to the appealing character of the cellar.

Plaisir de Merle offers a variety of Cape Winelands wedding packages which range from intimate celebrations in the Manor House (up to 36 guests)

To celebrate its 20th vintage, Plaisir de Merle is adding a Méthode Cap Classique sparkling wine to its range of cultivar wines.

The romantic ideal of ‘the time, the place and the loved one all together’ comes true for couples in search of a dream wedding destination in the Cape.
