Brenaissance – a suitable occassion

The first time I went to Brenaissance (75/2 Devon Valley Rd, Stellenbosch) was October 2013, to taste the wine and get a quick bite to eat. We were so surprised at how busy it was and could not understand how we hadn’t heard of the place earlier! It was like the best kept secret that no one wanted to tell us about!!
We were welcomed by the manager as we approached the restaurant and we asked if we could taste the wine and have something to eat. As we looked around I thought there was no way we would get a table let alone be able to do a tasting as well. To my surprise there was a table outside and they quickly cleaned it and got it ready for us.
The manager then came to our table to suggest the wine and pizza tasting. We went ahead with this and had a great first time experience.

The second time we went to this restaurant was over Christmas with family, and friends with children. Again the service was fantastic, the pizzas were lovely and the cocktails and cordials were refreshing. The children played on the playground just outside the restaurant while the adults enjoyed the ambience.

A few weeks ago, we went to Brenaissance for a friend’s birthday and yet again the place was perfect. Almost everyone had children in our group and the table we had booked was right beside the playground which meant that the group could stay together while the children were minded. It was perfect for all.
The pizza is really good here. There are a nice amount of options, the pizza has a thin crust and the toppings are full of flavour. I had the Cajun chicken pizza which was hotter than I remember, but the pizza was still fantastic!! A must drink is the Lemon, Lime and Mint Crusher. This drink is so refreshing and it tastes similar to a mojito but without the alcohol.

The wine at Brenaissance is good quality, my favourite is the Chardonnay. This time round I thoroughly enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc while sitting outside in the sun. I highly recommend visiting this winery and enjoying a lazy Sunday lunch here!!
Be sure to book a table in advance as this place is very popular!! It is definitely the best kept secret which I apologise for now ruining. As it is, there are not enough tables at this restaurant for all of us who want to dine there.
